4oD on-demand television and iTV Player services was launched recently on the PlayStation of Sony. With the launch of the two TVs, one thing is assured that you will never miss a riveting episode of Coronation Street and Hollyoaks.

Now, all the owners of PlayStation can access Channel 4 services and iTV through the TV icon on the media bar of it. With active internet connection, PS3 owners can stream their favorite shows from the respective channels after the program has been aired on the standard terrestrial television.

The shows will be available for up to 30 days after it has been televised. The main thing is that the services are free. It is funded by advertisements.

Before this launch, PlayStation 3 had many online streaming features such as PS Store Video Store, BBC iPlayer, Mubi, PlayTV and LoveFilm. PlayTV is not free.

The PlayTV is a plug-in peripheral and it acts as a digital tuner. It allows watching as well as recording Freeview channels.
