Now, all the owners of PlayStation can access Channel 4 services and iTV through the TV icon on the media bar of it. With active internet connection, PS3 owners can stream their favorite shows from the respective channels after the program has been aired on the standard terrestrial television.

The shows will be available for up to 30 days after it has been televised. The main thing is that the services are free. It is funded by advertisements.

Before this launch, PlayStation 3 had many online streaming features such as PS Store Video Store, BBC iPlayer, Mubi, PlayTV and LoveFilm. PlayTV is not free.

The PlayTV is a plug-in peripheral and it acts as a digital tuner. It allows watching as well as recording Freeview channels.

Few words of the event are: “the most anticipated presentation of teh past 10 years.”

Symbols that are in PlayStation was also found in the invitation and this has sparked the speculations more that PS Phone may be unveiled in the event.

PlayStation phone is a hot gossip these days among the gaming gadgets. Earlier, it was also learned that PS Phone will be shown on the event of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 that will be held in Barcelona, Spain.

Playstation Move controlled is tagged at $49.99 per piece and the Move Navigation Controller is priced at $29.99 each.

Apart from these two, the Playstation Move Starter Bundle sells at $99.99. The bundle includes the Playstation Move Controller, Sports Champions title, and Playstation Eye.

This month Nintendo started selling Red Wii Hardware Bundle, which includes limited edition red Wii hardware, a new red Wii Remote Plus, a copy of New Super Mario Bros., red Nunchuk, and copy of Wii Sports. The Red Wii Hardware Bundle is tagged at $199.99.

NHL is already having online option that is available through the NHL GameCenter service. Now they have partnered with PlayStation Network to integrate the game into PS3 with the help of app for the subscribers of PalyStation Plus absolutely free and for non-subscribers the cost is $10.

Peter Dille of PS Network said that their network has become innovative over time and offers all-in-one destination for PlayStation 3 users for comprehensive and customized on-demand entertainment. He adds that the streaming of NHL is an expansion to their library of movies and TV shows. Moreover, the content can be streamed when user wants and how he or she wants.

The GameCenter has subscription plans for $169.00 a year or $20.99 a month. Non-subscribers can see post-game highlights, the player stats, team schedules, profiles and standings.

On the occasion of 11th anniversary, CEO and President of Sony Jack Tretton said in an official blog post: “There is no better testament of our longevity as a brand and our true leadership in bringing forward technology to the masses, than what we’ve accomplished with the PS2.”

He added further that the PlayStation 2 continues to be a defining moment in their legacy and they are thankful to the passionate and loyal fans who have been with them since the inception of PS2.

Sony, since March 2004, has been predicting a 10-year lifecycle of the PS2. The then Vice President of Sony, Andrew House, said at the Game Developers Conference that more than 60% of the sales of PS2 were yet to come. So far it is 51 percent, close to the prediction.

The system was initially priced at $299 in the US market when it was released on October 26, 2000.

Country Manager of Sony Computer Entertainment (India) Atindriya Bose said that they are very excited to bring the store in the Indian market. He added further that the store will make available the existing PlayStation network games through digital download at price points.

The store’s services will encompass the PSP and PSP Go. The other offers of the store are multiplayer gaming facility, subscription to PS Plus program and many more. Early versions of games can also be tried out here along with the demos.

It is learned that the store will remain open on all the days of the week and the pricing will be from Rs. 170 onwards. The annual subscription goes up to Rs. 2,850.

As of now, the Xbox Live is having a good market in the country and the PS Store also expects the same.

The UK based Sony Computer Entertainment is presently used by about 1.4 million people across the world. Now, it has become the official PS3 integrated subscription film service partner. It allows all the console users to stream related movies through the internet.

This deal is the latest phase in the ongoing partnership of Sony and LOVEFiLM. The service of the two has also been launched on the Sony Bravia internet video TVs, Blu-ray home theatre kits and Blu-ray players.

The deal of the two companies also serves to bring the PS Network closer in line with the United States, where the film streaming and TV content is supplied in agreement with Netflix.

Managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment UK, Ray Maguire, said that this deal with LOVEFiLM is a natural fit with the audience its console targets.

He further said, “LOVEFiLM has a proven track record of success and innovation in the film distribution field and is a very welcome addition to the PlayStation family.”

This new demo from Activision will allow gamers to play Cliffhanger of Modern Warfare 2. Cliffhanger is the most recognized level of the game.

Gamers will start the level on a snowy cliff face and need to take out some enemies who are in the treacherous conditions. Eventually the player gets spotted in the game and need to race for survival aboard a snowmobile. The enemy firing is tremendous in this level.

In fact, may of the fans of MW2 waited for this demo for about a year.

Watching the demo they want to make decision whether to buy the game or not.

Publisher 2K announced recently that its new DLC for BioShock 2 will be released on August 3 on all the three platforms – PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It will cost gamers $4.99 on any of the platform.

Earlier, 2K president Christoph Hartmann said, “The team at 2K Marin has been working hard ever since the launch of ‘BioShock 2′ to develop ways for gamers to extend their time in the single-player world of Rapture.”

He also added further that he was porud to announce the first of these experiences that takes players back to some of the favorite places from original Bioshock. He said that the new DLC features some of the biggest challenges that players have ever experienced.

In Protector Trials the players can roam the underwater world of Rapture as a Big Daddy. Players need to protect Little Sister from hordes of enemy Splicers.

In Protector Trials there will be 6 maps. Three of the maps will be difficult levels.

More to this, the Protector Trials will feature some new unlockable items such as videos and concept art.

The fourth position has also been taken by Modern Warfare 2. The YouTube video titled Modern Warfare 2: OpTic Nation’s Top 5 kills has been viewed 311,398 times total for the week ending July 22.

The second and third place has been, however, taken by other video games. In the 10th place is Bleep Bloop: Hotel Room video.
